Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an LPN to integrate technical skills with theory to meet patient and family needs. The role supports the care team in prevention, wellness, and comfort, and begins to assume leadership at the unit level.

The LPN delivers and documents direct, age-specific care under medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan. It includes safely administering prescribed medications and following provider guidelines.

Qualifications

• LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible licensure.
• Current LPN Licensure in Virginia.
• AHA BLS Certification or equivalent.
• Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing.
• Experience as a LPN in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-specific care per medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan of care.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor for interactions.
• Assist the health care team with prevention of illness and injury and maintenance of wellness.
• Provide direction, education, and begin to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
• Follow documented physician/licensed independent provider orders and practice guidelines.
