Position Purpose

Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in a medical office setting. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician.

Hours/Shift

Full Time/Days 8:00a-4:30p M-F

Key Responsibilities
  • Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
  • Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
  • Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
  • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
  • May perform venipuncture.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Work Requirements

Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors, communicate using telephone, and able to consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level lifting up to 50 pounds. Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing and sitting at desk 10% of the time per day. Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.
