Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare, Concord, NC, is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the overnight shift to provide safe, person-centered care to adults in treatment for substance use and/or mental health conditions.

The role includes direct nursing care, administering medications, detox support, assessments, and collaboration with the treatment team. Full-time overnight 8-hour shifts; weekend needs may apply.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered LPN license in North Carolina.
• Current CPR/BLS, AED, and First Aid certification.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, detoxification, or co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Ability to work independently and overnight hours in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments for new admissions.
• Administer medications according to physician orders and protocols.

• Complete COWS and CIWA assessments per clinical protocols.
• Monitor clients overnight and report changes to medical staff.

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Concord, NC program on the overnight shift. This full-time position plays an important role in providing safe, compassionate nursing care to adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders and/or mental health conditions.

The LPN provides direct nursing care, administers medications, supports detoxification protocols, completes clinical assessments, and collaborates with medical providers and the treatment team to ensure clients receive high-quality, person-centered care throughout the night.

Schedule

Full-Time | Overnight Shift | 8-hour shifts

Overnight schedule based on program and client-care needs. Weekend availability may be required based on operational needs.

Complete nursing assessments for new admissions, as applicable.

Administer medications according to physician orders, nursing standards, and program protocols.

Implement and monitor detoxification protocols as assigned.

Complete COWS and CIWA assessments in accordance with clinical protocols.

Monitor clients overnight and promptly report changes in condition to the appropriate medical or clinical staff.

Provide medication education and support to clients.

Assist medical providers with assessments, medication management, and follow-up care.

Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, including overnight observations and clinical updates.

Monitor client safety and respond appropriately to medical or behavioral health concerns.

Maintain medical equipment and supplies in proper working order.

Follow all HIPAA, safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain professional boundaries and ethical nursing standards.

Communicate relevant client updates and concerns to the treatment team to support continuity of care between shifts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Licensure, Education & Experience

Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina required.

Current CPR/BLS, AED, and First Aid certification required.

Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.

Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, detoxification, or co-occurring disorders strongly preferred.

Ability to work independently and effectively during overnight hours in a fast-paced treatment environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong clinical judgment and nursing skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to assess situations, recognize changes in client condition, and respond appropriately.

Ability to remain calm and professional during crisis or high-risk situations.

Knowledge of applicable healthcare, nursing, and regulatory standards.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively with nurses, medical providers, counselors, and other members of the treatment team.

Commitment to providing respectful, compassionate, and recovery-focused care.

Physical Requirements

Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and climb stairs as needed.

Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and, less frequently, up to 50 pounds.

Ability to perform duties requiring close, distance, peripheral, and depth-perception vision.

Primarily an indoor healthcare and treatment environment.

Full-time overnight schedule consisting of 8-hour shifts.

May involve exposure to infectious diseases and individuals experiencing acute psychiatric, behavioral, or traumatic situations.

Requires reliable transportation to and from the work location.
