JOB SUMMARY:

This opening is for a licensed practical nurse or medical assistant. LPNs provide direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or physician. They meet regulatory requirements and standards for nursing and comply with SMC Physician Practice Management policies. MAs provide clinical support services professionally and courteously, delivering direct and indirect patient care under a physician or advanced practice provider.

LPNs and MAs communicate effectively with physicians and team members about patient conditions, symptoms, and diagnostic results. They provide care and communication tailored to each patient and family, complete documentation and charges accurately and promptly. In some clinics, the LPN or MA may also coordinate and schedule appointments and gather/document patient demographic information, facilitating communication between front and back office processes for clinic success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program preferred or Licensed to practice as an LPN in Oklahoma
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Previous MA or clinical experience preferred
• Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
• Good communication with staff, physicians, and the public
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Current CPR certification or completion within 30 days of hire

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Adequate hearing with or without correction
• Correctable vision to read reports and materials
• Strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and stressful situations
