Job Summary LPN

Responsible for providing direct patient care, ongoing education, reinforcement of care plans, and general support in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of the patient's physician or LIP/RN designee, in accordance with policy, procedure, and competency. This role involves serving patients of all ages with an understanding of their developmental stage.

Job Summary MA

Medical Assistants provide clinical support, assist with administrative tasks, and support clinic operations in an ambulatory setting under supervision. Responsibilities include patient care, vital signs, laboratory tests, quality control, clinical intake, and serving patients of all ages with appropriate developmental understanding.

Licensed Practical Nurse - Ambulatory
  • Assist the RN and/or provider with data collection concerning patients' physical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects, following practice standards and policies.
  • Organize and prioritize nursing activities considering patient needs and team input.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions based on patient needs as directed.
  • Assist in evaluating care effectiveness to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing education and reinforce care plans based on health and education needs.
  • Create a safe environment and ensure safe care delivery.
  • Engage in professional development for self and contribute to team growth.
  • Demonstrate teamwork in patient care delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Medical Assistant - Ambulatory
  • Support clinic efficiency and maintain effective communication with team members, providers, and patients.
  • Collect data on patients' physical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects, adhering to standards and policies.
  • Complete standardized rooming and clinical intake procedures.
  • Provide clinical support during examinations and procedures, including specimen collection, testing, wound care, and medication administration.
  • Organize daily tasks to support patient needs and operational efficiency.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed.
  • Reinforce patient and family education using approved materials.
  • Ensure a safe environment and proper maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Document and bill for clinical services accurately.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and communication.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, recognizing time-sensitive issues.
  • Maintain professional development for self and others.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements for LPN

Education: Graduated from an accredited LPN program.

Experience: None required.

Licensure: Licensed as an LPN in Virginia and BLS certified through AHA.

Minimum Requirements for Medical Assistant

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or military experience with certification eligibility.

Experience: Preferred but not required.

Licensure: Certification through recognized national bodies (AAMA, AMT, NAHP, ARMA, NHA) within 6 months of hire; BLS certification required at hire.

Physical Demands

Standing for long periods, frequent travel, bending, lifting 20-50 lbs., with exposure to chemicals, blood, and infectious materials. Requires proficient communication, sensory, and physical skills.
