Job summary

Southern Health Partners is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our medical team at the Morgan County Jail in Decatur, AL. This is a hands-on nursing role within a structured correctional environment, working alongside a dedicated healthcare team.

The position is night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), full-time with 12-hour shifts. A valid Alabama LPN license and CPR certification are required; prior nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in Alabama.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a structured correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients within the facility.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Complete assessments, documentation, and nursing interventions.
• Monitor patients and recognize changes in condition.
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
• Respond appropriately to urgent and emergent medical needs.
• Follow facility security procedures and correctional healthcare protocols.
• Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate patient care.
