Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Heritage Valley is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) to provide patient care under an RN's direction in an inpatient med-surgical unit. The role focuses on data gathering, reporting and carrying out orders while delivering therapy in an age-appropriate manner.

Candidates must hold an active LPN/LVN license in their state (or compact license) and current BLS. IV certification may be required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license in state or compact licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• IV certification within 90 days of employment if required by state regulations.
• One year inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under RN supervision.
• Gather and report patient data.
• Carry out orders and perform therapeutic procedures.
• Deliver age-appropriate care in accordance with PAM Health policies.

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN)

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) is responsible for providing appropriate nursing care, as directed by an RN on the nursing unit. Functions include gathering and reporting data, carrying out orders, and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner, consistent with the policies, procedures, and guidelines of PAM Health. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Training:

Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification required. BLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.

• Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state regulations.

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
