The Hospice Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN)supplements the nursing care needs of the patient provided by the Registered Nurse (RN) and as specified in the plan of care. In addition the Hospice LPN assists with patient and family education and documentation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN assists the physician or RN in performing specialized duties or procedures in relation to end of life care.

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides the necessary treatments, education, and documentation consistent with the plan of care.May be asked to rotate to other regions/departments.
Experience RequirementsMust have one year of recent nursing experience. Experience in home care nursing and care of and working with the terminally ill and their families is desired.
Education Requirements
Must have a degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
Required Certificates and/or LicensesMust have licensure from the governing body for practice for the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, based on the state/jurisdiction of practice. Licensure from compact state is acceptable. Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) is required to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. A CHLPN certification is a plus.
Driver's License
Must have a driver's license in good standing and access to a vehicle during working hours.
