LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - 7 Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit

Location: Geisinger Lewistown Hospital (GLH)

Shift: Rotation (United States of America)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36

Job Summary: Geisinger offers a full-time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN. We provide competitive hiring rates and up to $5 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Job Duties:

  1. Contribute to patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Promote safety, patient satisfaction, and compassionate interactions. Coordinate patient care and staff interactions. Meet qualifications to care for patients in the assigned unit.
  2. Assist in assessments within scope of practice and unit standards.
  3. Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout care.
  4. Reinforce patient and family education, discharge planning, and family needs during hospitalization.
  5. Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policies.
  6. Evaluate nursing interventions based on patient responses.
  7. Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and interdisciplinary team members to address patient needs.
  8. Participate in unit-based decision-making and evidence-based practice utilization.
  9. Assist in performance appraisals and mentor new staff and students.
  10. Perform in a clinical environment, adhering to policies and procedures. Additional competencies will be outlined during orientation.
