Job summary

MedStar Health Home Care in the Washington DC area is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse with home care experience to join our dedicated team.

You will provide skilled, compassionate in-home nursing, support care plans for each patient, and help patients and families achieve progress toward health and independence under RN supervision. One weekend per month is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Experience: 1–2 years in an acute care setting; home health experience preferred.
• Licenses: LPN license in DC/MD/VA or a valid combination; valid driver’s license; CPR required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate home health care to patients across a spectrum of needs under RN supervision.
• Support and implement care plans for each patient and their caregivers.
• Assist patients and families to achieve progress toward health, independence, and well-being.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

• Graduation from an accredited program of Practical Nursing required

Experience

• 1-2 years recent clinical experience in an acute care setting required
• Home care / Home health experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Valid LPN license in the District of Columbia Maryland or Virginia or any combination as required based on work location(s) Upon Hire required and
• DL - Valid State Driver's License in good standing with a dependable vehicle for transportation Upon Hire required and
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and
• Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
