Job description

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Full Time Mon-Thu 2p-10p (Healthcare)

Sign on Bonus: $1000 ($500 paid out after 90 days and the remaining $500 at 180 days)

Core Duties:
  1. Directs the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing the long-term care facility. Ensures work assignments are developed and completed, and all nursing personnel comply with established policies and procedures.
  2. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, positive emphasis, and a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
  3. Administers medications, performs treatments, and nursing procedures according to policies, procedures, and standards of care. Ensures physician/consultant orders and changes are followed. Monitors narcotic records for accuracy and reports discrepancies to the Nursing Supervisor.
  4. Monitors residents' activities of daily living, assessing mental status, physical condition, and psychological well-being. Encourages participation in activities and coordinates schedules to accommodate residents' needs.
  5. Charts nurses' notes in an informative, descriptive manner, reflecting the care provided, residents' responses, and adherence to care plans. Ensures all entries are signed and dated.
  6. Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, evaluations, reports, and filing. Reports discrepancies concerning physician's orders, diet changes, or charting errors to the Director of Nursing.
  7. Maintains adequate supplies and ensures all areas are clean, safe, and sanitary.
  8. Communicates with staff regarding shift planning, resident care plans, diet changes, and other relevant updates.
