Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Rocky Mount is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN). Under the RN on the unit, you will deliver direct patient care to medically complex and critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization.

Hold current LPN/LVN licensure in the state, BLS certification, and IV certification within 90 days if required. One year of inpatient med-surgical nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Holds current LPN/LVN licensure in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates.
• Current BLS certification required. BLS must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the RN on the unit, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Licensed Practical (LPN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
• Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals to assist in carrying out individualized care plans
• Functions include gathering and reporting data, carrying out orders, and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population appropriate manner
• May perform other related duties as assigned or requested
