Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Wilkes-Barre is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide age-appropriate nursing care under the supervision of an RN. It includes data gathering, reporting, order execution, and therapeutic procedures in line with PAM Health policies.

We require active LPN/LVN licensure in the appropriate state, current BLS, and IV certification if state rules apply; one year of inpatient med-surgical nursing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure in the practicing state.
• Current BLS certification required; AHA approved within 90 days.
• IV certification within 90 days if state regulations require it.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under RN direction.
• Gather and report data, carry out orders, perform therapeutic procedures.

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) is responsible for providing appropriate nursing care, as directed by an RN on the nursing unit. Functions include gathering and reporting data, carrying out orders, and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner, consistent with the policies, procedures, and guidelines of PAM Health. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Training:

Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification required. BLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.

• Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state regulations.

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
