Job summary

RHA Health Services in North Carolina is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Facility Based Crisis Center. The 16-bed, 24/7/365 center serves adults with behavioral health, detox, and related needs.

This role involves nursing assessments, medication oversight, and implementing care plans to stabilize crises. Active LPN licensure in the state, 2 years’ behavioral health nursing experience preferred, valid driver’s license, and compliance with background checks are required.

We are hiring for: Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN / Facility Based Crisis Type: Regular If you are a positive and personable individual looking for a satisfying and fun opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual, developmental disabilities, and people facing mental health, and substance use challenges, join our team at RHA Health Services! Performs nursing functions and consumer care at a Facility Based Crisis Center including assessment, care, and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA. This position relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment with limited supervision and direction to provide quality services to crisis facility clients. The Facility Based Crisis (FBC) Center is a community-based facility that serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization when appropriate. The FBC is a 16-bed facility operating 24/7/365 for adults aged 18 and over experiencing behavioral, emotional, psychological, detox, or other acute crisis stabilization needs. The FBC provides short-term intensive evaluation, treatment intervention or behavioral management to stabilize acute or crisis situations: Assessment and evaluation Intensive treatment and stabilization Linkage to services that will provide further treatment or rehabilitation upon release. The FBC Nur is a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated care to individuals with behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorders. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons in a facility-based crisis/non-hospital detox setting. All patients are able to perform their own ADL’s. No physical or chemical restraints. Average length of stay of patients is 5 -7 days.

Shift Differential
  • Shift Differential Available: 10% Weekday Nights 10% Weekend Days 15% Weekend Nights
Job Responsibilities

Performing Nursing assessments and interventions with medications oversight and administration as needed. Reporting client’s social, psychological and physical behavior as indicated Implementing and ensuring compliance with standards of nursing practice that promote optimal health care delivery and meet regulatory requirements Implementing policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with Confidentiality regulations, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), national accreditation agency and Continuous Quality Improvement, attending applicable meetings as necessary Using state guidelines, Quality Assurance Plan and Client Rights Policy, ensuring that clinical operations comply with state regulations and update plans and policies as necessary Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, making recommendations for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, motivating, disciplining and promoting team performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Requirements

Requirement Active and current LPN Licensure in state of employment 2 years’ experience as a nurse working with behavioral health clients, preferred Working knowledge of psychoactive substance abuse, dependency and the principles and techniques based on best practices, commitment to the use of evidence based treatment and preventative methods Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance required Pre-employment screening: Complete criminal background Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities) Drug testing Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements. Proof of employment history or references (if required) Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
