Job summary

Advocate Health's Aurora Medical Group in Wisconsin is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support ambulatory care teams across our network. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, adhere to patient privacy, and bring compassion to every interaction.

The role requires an active LPN license in the state, BLS certification, GED or HS diploma, and additional training. Prior LPN experience is preferred, with a float pool differential of $3.00.

Qualifications

• LPN license issued by the state in which you practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association within 45 days if required.
• GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
• 1 year of LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

We’re Looking For:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required
• GED or HS Equivalency Diploma
• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved
• 1 year of more LPN experience preferred.

What You’ll Do:

Schedule: Schedule availability should range from 7:00am - 6:30pm. Start and end times are anytime within those hours, however, most shifts are scheduled from 8:00am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5:00pm. This position is also eligible for a float Pool Differential – $3.00 LPN. Must have reliable transportation.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

Our float pool supports a variety of specialties such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women’s Health, and Integrative Medicine. This position will float to the following clinics:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Possible exposure to communicable diseases. Must speak, read, and write Basic English fluently. Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Manual finger dexterity.
