Job summary

Hawthorne Center for Rehabilitation and Healing of Sarasota is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for full-time night shifts (6 PM – 6:30 AM). Work 3 days of 12 hours with every other weekend.

Walk-in interviews are held Tuesdays 11 AM to 3 PM at 5381 Desoto Rd, Sarasota, FL 34243. We seek caring, dedicated LPNs to join a resident-focused team in a 120-bed facility offering competitive pay, supportive training, and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• LPN license (state or multistate) is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admissions, discharge and transfers of residents.
• Medication requisitions with pharmacy and physicians.
• Medication administration and infection control adherence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for resident outcomes.
• Report abnormal changes in residents’ condition promptly.
• Direct and supervise care in certain situations per policies.
• Maintain documentation requirements and patient confidentiality.

Some of your Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Responsibilities include:

• Admissions, Discharge and Transfers of residents
• Medication requisitions with pharmacy and physicians
• Medication administration
• Following infection control, emergencies, and other center policies
• Collaborating with resident’s interdisciplinary team to provide the best outcomes
• Identifying and reporting all abnormal changes in residents’ condition to proper personnel per center policy
• Works under direct supervision in accordance with the state-specific Nurse Practice Act, facility Policies and Procedures, and nursing judgment.
• Delivers nursing care to patients/residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care.
• Collects patient/resident data, makes observations, and reports pertinent information related to the care of the patient/resident.
• According to state-specific regulations, implements the patient/resident plan of care and evaluates the patient/resident response.
• In accordance with state-specific regulations, directs and supervises care given by other nursing personnel in selected situations.
• Maintains knowledge of necessary documentation requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment set‑up, maintenance and use, i.e., monitors, infusion devices, drain devices, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality and patient/resident rights, regarding all patient/resident/ personnel information.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) QUALIFICATIONS:

• LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) licensed by the State or Multistate License
• CPR Certification required
• Two Years prior nursing experience preferred
