Job summary

Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Care Retirement Community, is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Health Center, 3pm–11pm.

Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities with CNAs and staff nurses in accordance with state and federal standards. The role requires Florida LPN license and CPR certification; one year of long-term care experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Florida LPN license and CPR certification.
• One year of long-term care experience is desirable.
• Ability to supervise CNAs and coordinate resident care under physician orders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as Charge Nurse and ensure staff follow orders.
• Administer medications as prescribed and perform medication passes.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (Healthcare)

Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Care Retirement Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) part-time, 3pm - 11pm in our Health Center. As a part of the Nursing Team, this individual will provide direct nursing care to residents as well as supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and staff nurses in accordance with state and federal standards. As part of the Westminster Family, this position is vital in supporting our Nursing Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The LPN must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities including:

• Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN). Complete admission documentation in ECS.
• Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes. Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders. Enter physician orders into ECS.
• Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor's orders/complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols. Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse. Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge: One year of long-term care is desirable. Med-surg, Home Health experience helpful. In addition, experience working with the handicapped or developmentally disabled adults preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements. The physical activities of this positioninvolve:Fingering, lifting up to 40 lbs., standing, grasping, pushing, stooping, kneeling, reaching

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are:Feeling, smelling, hearing, speaking, seeing, tasting

An individual in this position will be exposed to:Inside environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens, physical hazards using equipment, respiratory hazards

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
