Job summary

Ocala Health Trauma, part of the HCA Healthcare system, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support patient care on a day shift. The role emphasizes efficient patient flow, accuracy in documentation, and collaboration with providers to ensure high-quality care.

The LPN will screen patients, prepare for exams, instruct on tests and medications, and coordinate referrals and pre-authorizations as directed by the provider.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient flow of patients including screening, exam prep, and vitals collection.
• Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments; explain medications.
• Maintain patient records including chart entries and lab/test results.
• Schedule tests and treatments and arrange referrals with pre-authorizations when needed.
• Assist provider with exams and preparation for physicals.
• Coordinate with pharmacy to order prescriptions and inform patients.
• Monitor inventory and supplies.
• Record health history and note abnormal conditions for physicians.
• Screen calls for referrals and triage patient flow.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN/LVN for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

• You will manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, instructing patients on collection of any necessary samples/tests, and obtaining vitals
• You will notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments and instruct patients and families about medications and treatment instructions
• You will manage patient records including chart entries and posting lab/tests and examination results
• You will schedule tests and treatments including arranging referrals to a specialist and obtaining pre-authorizations when directed by the provider
• Assist provider with physical exams and in preparation for physicals
• Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients
• Control inventory and monitoring of supplies
• Record health history of patients and note abnormal conditions for physicians
• Respond to and screen telephone calls for referrals to nurse or physician
• Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow

What Qualifications you will need:

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse following state regulations ****
