  • Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
  • Assign nursing care to team members based on residents’ needs and personnel capabilities.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents and document treatments per company, local, state, and federal rules.
  • Participate in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
  • Ensure supplies are used economically and equipment is clean and maintained.
  • Record observations and reactions regarding residents.
  • Coordinate nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures.
  • Interview applicants and recommend hires; participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff to the extent permitted by the state practice act.
  • Supervise nursing unit, schedule and direct staff to the extent permitted by the state practice act.
  • Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained and communicate needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
