Job summary

AristaCare Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This role requires compliance with all applicable standards and regulations to ensure high-quality care at all times.

The position offers full-time, part-time, and per diem shifts, with responsibilities including medication administration, resident orientation, staff evaluations, and ongoing training

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the applicable state.
• Experience supervising nursing assistants.
• Ability to adhere to federal, state and local standards.

Responsibilities

• Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment.
• Participate in staffing evaluations and advise Nurse Supervisor on staffing decisions.
• Greet new admitted residents and escort to their rooms as needed.
• Assist in orienting new residents and families to the facility.
• Develop and schedule in-service training for the nursing team.

The primary purpose of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services or Nurse Supervisor to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Available Shift: Full-time / Part-time/ Per Diem

• Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment.

• Participate in employee performance evaluations, determining your shift's staffing requirements, and making recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor concerning employee dismissals, transfers, etc.

• Greet newly admitted residents upon admission. Escort them to their rooms as necessary.

• Participate in the orientation of new residents'/family members to the facility.

• Participate in developing, planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training classes that provide instructions on "how to do the job," and ensure a well-educated nursing service department.
