Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Ferriday is seeking a compassionate PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. You will provide direct patient care within the LPN scope, participate in patient assessments, document findings, and collaborate with RNs and the medical staff.

Shifts include Day (7 AM–7 PM) and Night (7 PM–7 AM) with full-time and PRN status. Requires graduation from an accredited LPN program and Louisiana LPN license; one year of mental health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program is required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• One year of mental health or psychiatric care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer direct patient care within the LPN scope.
• Assist with patient assessments and document findings timely.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to RN/medical staff.
• Assist with admission paperwork and ensure proper documentation.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and chart reviews.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement care plans.

Position Details

• Shift Availability: Day Shift (7 AM - 7 PM) & Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Status: FULL-TIME; PRN

Position Summary

As a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day care of patients, adhering to professional nursing standards while ensuring compliance with TJC, CMS, and state regulations. Key responsibilities include:

• Administering direct patient care within the scope of your LPN license
• Assisting with patient assessments and documenting findings accurately and in a timely manner
• Monitoring patient condition and promptly reporting any changes to the RN or medical staff
• Assisting with the completion of admission paperwork and ensuring documentation meets facility standards
• Adhering to infection control policies and procedures
• Participating in performance improvement initiatives and chart reviews

Preferred Qualifications
