Job summary

The Barrington of Carmel, a BHI Community, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our resident-centered care team. You will provide hands-on nursing care, administer medications, monitor resident health, and collaborate with CNAs and QMAs to deliver compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active LPN license.
• Strong communication and compassionate patient care.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on nursing care, treatments, and medication administration with accuracy.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and monitor health and well-being.
• Complete admissions and assessments to welcome new residents from day one.
• Observe changes in condition and communicate with physicians and families.
• Ensure medications are administered safely and documented clearly.
• Conduct routine rounds to check on residents and provide comfort and support.
• Collaborate with CNAs and QMAs to guide care delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation per regulatory standards and best practices.
• Respond to nurse call systems promptly and thoughtfully.

In This Role You Will:

• Provide hands‑on nursing care, treatments, and medication administration with accuracy, attentiveness, and compassion.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents while monitoring their health, comfort, and overall well‑being.
• Complete admissions and assessments to ensure new residents feel welcomed and supported from day one.
• Observe changes in condition and communicate proactively with physicians, families, and nursing leadership.
• Ensure medications are administered safely and on time, documenting clearly and addressing any concerns promptly.
• Conduct routine rounds to check in on residents and provide reassurance, comfort, and clinical support.
• Partner with CNAs and QMAs to guide care delivery and support a strong, team‑centered environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Respond to nurse call systems promptly and thoughtfully, prioritizing resident needs.
• Night Shift: 7p-7:30a
• Full‑Time: 24-38hrs weekly! (POSITION IS FULL-TIME)
• Part‑Time: 12-25hrs weekly!

Who You Are:

• You are a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active LPN license in good standing.
• You combine clinical knowledge with empathy and a genuine passion for serving older adults.
• You communicate clearly, kindly, and confidently with residents, families, physicians, and team members.
• You are dependable, organized, and calm under pressure.
• You take pride in providing care that preserves dignity and promotes independence.
• You are comfortable using electronic medical record systems and basic computer programs.
• Preferred: Experience in senior living or long‑term care and a desire to grow within a collaborative care team.
