Job summary

Majestic Care of Carmel is looking for Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team in delivering skilled nursing care to residents on a dedicated unit, under the direction of the nursing management team.

As a nurse you will supervise CNAs, administer medications, document care, and assist physicians with tests and procedures while upholding safety and quality standards. Join a compassionate team committed to excellence in resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Active, valid nursing license in the state of employment.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document residents' condition and nursing needs.
• Administer medications and start IVs per physician orders.
• Coordinate nursing care with therapy and other departments.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within state requirements.
• Provide orientation and in-service training for personnel.

Position Overview:

Majestic Care Nurses render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the residents' condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians' orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN or LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
