Job summary

Civita Care at Northbridge in Bridgeport is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for full-time and part-time roles. Earn $37 to $41 per hour with shift differentials on evenings, overnights, and weekends, plus weekly pay. You will provide direct nursing care under RN supervision and support nursing staff in daily activities to ensure high-quality resident care.

New graduates are welcome. Must have an approved LPN/LVN program, CPR certification, and CT license.

Responsibilities

• Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
• Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under care.
• Follow physician’s orders and render/assist with nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other orders.
• Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately.
• Review patient records daily for accuracy and completeness.
• Document comprehensive nursing notes.
• Visit each resident daily to evaluate needs.
• Maintain awareness of residents on alert list.
• Document and report unusual findings; contact physician when necessary.
• Administer medication according to procedure and maintain safe control of drugs.
• Initiate emergency procedures as necessary and demonstrate safety techniques.
• Respect and protect facility equipment and avoid waste.”
• Contribute to effective communication and positive resident-family relations.
• Comply with Privacy Policies & Procedures and protect health information.
• Continue growth and expand job knowledge; demonstrate leadership; perform other duties as assigned.

We are hiring FULL TIME & PART TIME Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our dynamic care team at Civita Care at Northbridge in Bridgeport!

Openings on all shifts. $37 to $41 an hour, depending on the shift. Shift differentials on evenings, overnights, and weekends. Weekly pay!

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, your job position is to provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN to residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistant to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Experience & Education:

• Must be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Follow physician’s orders. Renders and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders.
• Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately.

• Visit each resident daily to evaluate resident needs.
• Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
• Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills.
• Must be familiar with drug actions and interactions.
• Must have knowledge of restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
