Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Turner Job Corps Center in Albany, GA. You will implement health and wellness care plans for students and provide nursing services within state scope of practice.

Responsibilities include wellness assessments, lab result reviews, and documentation in health records, with a focus on infection control and safety protocols. A valid GA license and passing a background check are required.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted LPN/LVN license to practice in Georgia.
• Prefer 2+ years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Must pass a drug screen per policy.
• Employment contingent on nationwide background check.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $23.83

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse works closely with students and nursing staff to apply health and wellness care plans.
• Provides nursing services within the scope of practice for state-specific nurse Practice Act.
• Performs physical, emotional wellness assessments, and cursory exams for all students.
• The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse provides for a wellness care plan that addresses students' needs according to protocol outlined in Health Standing Orders or refs students to the Center Physician/mid-level practitioner.
• Reviews all laboratory results and flags abnormal results for review by the center Physician.
• Follows protocol for infection control by adhering to the Blood borne Pathogen Control plan and disinfecting work sites. Ensures the appropriate handling of specimens and equipment, as well as the sterilization of equipment.
• Documents each encounter with students in their health records.

Qualifications

• State Licensed Practical Nurse's License/Licensed Vocational Nurse's License and one year's experience as a practicing LPN/LVN.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice in state of Georgia.
• Prefer 2+ years of experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
