We are currently seeking an experienced:

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Part Time, Nights

Job Description:

1. Assist in directing nursing services for the unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
2. Delegate duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel, and monitor work performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
3. Observe patients for symptoms and reactions, including physical and mental conditions, that may indicate adverse changes.
4. Assist in notifying attending physicians of emergencies and patient deaths in the unit. Implement changes in orders as instructed by physicians.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing with an active LPN license.
3. Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing; submit proof of license renewal every other year.
4. Willing to serve as charge nurse and work during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
5. Ability to provide quality nursing care, follow doctors’ orders, and demonstrate a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
6. CPR certified annually.
7. Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
