Job summary

Edgewood Surgical Hospital in Pennsylvania is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Inpatient unit. Roles available: part-time and full-time. The LPN will deliver direct patient care on a 10-bed orthopedic-focused unit, perform assessments, ensure accurate documentation, and work with RNs to optimize patient care. Vaccination and certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure as an LPN in Pennsylvania.
• Current BLS required, ACLS and PALS certifications included.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, ADLs, post-operative pain management, IVs, lab draws, and assessments as per policy.
• Completes assessments per scope of practice and unit standards.
• Ensures comprehensive patient documentation to promote communication among care teams.
• Communicates patient status to RN and other providers; suggests changes in care and unit practices.
• Solves problems, troubleshoots equipment, and supports unit teamwork toward goals.

Edgewood Surgical Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Inpatient department: part-time and full-time positions are available at this time.

Inpatient LPN Job Summary/Description: This is a position for a 10 bed Inpatient Unit caring primarily for orthopedic patients. The LPN will:

• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, activities of daily living, post-operative pain management, managing IV lines, lab draws, and physical assessments according to policy and procedure
• Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards
• Must make sure patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers
• Demonstrates critical thinking in identifying physical, psychological, social, cultural, and clinical issues for patient care
• Initiates communication with RN and articulates the patient’s condition to other care providers and negotiates to make recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices
• Problem solves, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment
• Actively participates as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization

Education/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania. Current BLS required.
