Job summary

The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) is offering recruitment incentives up to $10,000 for several nursing roles, with $7,500 for LPN and $5,000 for CNA. Referral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current DHSS employees who refer new hires.

Applicants must be new state employees, and the program may be terminated by the State at any time. Incentives are paid in quarterly installments over the first year, with a two-year employment commitment for new hires.

Qualifications

• Delaware Practical Nurse license (LPN) required for LPN levels; multi-state / compact licenses accepted.
• Delaware temporary license may be acceptable for certain level transitions.
• Active nursing licenses permitted in Delaware or compact jurisdictions are required.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatments as directed.
• Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).
• Pours, administers, charts and records medications.
• Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.
• Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.
• Records information on patients' charts.
