Job summary

The Department of State (DOS) of the State of Delaware seeks qualified Licensed Practical Nurses and related nursing staff to join the clinical care team. New hires may qualify for recruitment incentives; referral bonuses are also available to current DOS employees who refer qualified candidates.

Positions report to a technical supervisor and involve routine nursing duties in documented care settings. Compliance with pre-employment screenings and background checks is required.

Qualifications

• Delaware Practical Nurse license or equivalent required.
• For LPN II at least 6 months of practical nursing experience.
• For LPN III at least 18 months of practical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatments as directed.
• Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).
• Pours, administers, charts and records medications.
• Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.
• Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.
• Records information on patients' charts.
