Valley Health is seeking an LPN for the Neuro Surgical department on the third shift, supporting nursing care under the supervision of RNs. The position requires a valid Virginia LPN license and BLS certification, with a focus on safe patient care, documentation, and patient education.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to care plans, core measures, and hospital policies to maintain high-quality patient outcomes and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• LPN license required and active in Virginia or eligible for Virginia licensure.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required prior to orientation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Follow plan of care assigned by the RN and document care provided.
• Assess patient needs and identify problems, implementing and evaluating outcomes.
• Provide patient teaching and document based on diagnosis and plan.
• Consult with RN when patient/family shows lack of understanding.
• Maintain timely and policy-compliant documentation including core measures.
• Participate in educational activities to maintain competence and skills.
• Contribute to a supportive and safe work environment per TJC standards.
