Job summary

Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include oxygen administration, wound care, catheter insertion, dialysis support, and medication administration with strict records and safety protocols.

The role requires LPN licensure in Ohio, CPR, and IV Therapy certification for dialysis tasks, with the ability to respond to emergencies and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of skilled licensed practical nursing procedures, pharmacology, patient care, first‑aid, CPR, hospital practices and HIPAA.
• Skill in using medical equipment (e.g., respirator, dialysis machine, sterilizer, oxygen equipment, blood pressure cuff) and PPE.
• Ability to respond to emergencies, develop rapport with patients, and demonstrate dexterity with injections.
• Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing and completion of an approved medication administration course.
• Nurses administering dialysis must possess Certification in IV Therapy.
• Biennial licensure renewal and CPR certification renewal.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, physician, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist or chiropractor.
• Performs tasks such as administering oxygen, wound care, inserting catheters, dialysis assistance and patient monitoring.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and participates in interdisciplinary meetings.
