Job summary

New River Valley Community Services seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Crisis Receiving & Stabilization Center in Radford, VA. This overnight role focuses on psychiatric nursing services and medication management for clients in crisis, with emphasis on accurate medication records and coordination with psychiatrists or nurse practitioners.

You will guide other staff on psychotropic medications and assist clients in obtaining medications through state programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Must have a valid Virginia LPN license.
• Experience in psychiatric or crisis care is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage psychiatric nursing services and medication services for crisis stabilization program clients.

• This position is for OVERNIGHTS***

New River Valley Community Services is searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Crisis Receiving & Stabilization Center ! Within this intensive LPN role, the LPN would manage psychiatric nursing services and medication services for crisis stabilization program clients. The LPN would assist clients in obtaining medication requests through state pharmacies or other programs and monitor clients’ responses to prescribed medications. The LPN would also ensure that psychiatrists and/or nurse practitioners have accurate information regarding client responses and difficulties related to prescribed medications. It is also crucial for the LPN to instruct other program staff on the use of psychotropic medication with mentally ill and co-occurring mental health/substance use populations.

Starting Salary Range: $23.51 - $27.04 hourly-depending on education and experience

Education/Experience Required:

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing is required.


• Must have a valid Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse License.
