Job Description Summary MUSC Children’s After Hours and Specialty Clinics is a pediatric outpatient clinic operating under Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital at MUSC, now opening in the new MUSC Medical Office Building at 700 Buckwalter Towne Blvd in Bluffton. This location brings pediatric After Hours services to the Bluffton community for the first time. During daytime hours, the facility hosts a wide range of pediatric subspecialists, including pediatric gastroenterology, cardiology, and orthopedics, among others. We also provide walk‑in After Hours Care, which serves as an extension of the pediatric emergency department to support families during the times when most pediatric practices are closed.

Specialty Clinics: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. | After Hours Clinic: Monday‑Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | Weekends, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Schedule: This full‑time position consists of two 12‑hour shifts (8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.), two 8‑hour shifts: 12:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and every other weekend from 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. with rotating holidays.
Requirements: LPN I Minimum Training and Education: Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. LPN Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.
