Public Health Licensed Practical Nurse 1, 2, or 3

Under broad supervision, provide assistance to public health nurses and county programs. Provide general direct nursing care, including medical treatments, medication administration, and injections. Assigned to specific clinical duties within the scope of an LPN in public health and may act as lead worker over projects or programs.

All District 4 Public Health employees are deemed essential during emergencies and may be called to participate in staffing shelters, SPOC, or POD, regardless of work hours.

• Administer immunizations per guidelines.
• Perform annual school & daycare immunization audits.
• Complete quarterly reports.
• Assist with scoliosis screenings.
• Participate in health fairs and educational programs.
• Conduct TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests.
• Prepare for and respond to public health emergencies.
• Utilize computer technology for data management.
• Participate in program planning.
• Communicate effectively in writing, orally, and electronically, respecting cultural differences.
• Follow organizational policies and procedures.
• Engage in personal and professional development opportunities.
• Train for front desk duties as backup.
• Assist with patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and medication review.
• Manage medication and vaccine inventories.

Levels and Qualifications:
Level 1 - (Salary: $33,000/year)
Vocational/Technical degree in LPN, current Georgia license, CPR certification, and completion of orientation and training. No experience required.
Level 2 - (Salary: $35,800/year)
Same as Level 1 plus two years of public health LPN experience.
Level 3 - (Salary: $38,926.79/year)
Same as Level 1 plus four years of public health LPN experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Public health experience
• Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and patient interviews
• Bilingual Spanish/English
