JOB SUMMARY
TheLPN / LVNprovides professional, direct client care ina medicaldetoxification and residential program settingsin accordance withestablished program procedures. This position collaborates witheffortsof health team members andin accordance withthe nursing process and standards of care and practice.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee fulfillment of patient’s medical orders, address patient medical concerns.
- Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections to patients as directed by directed physician.
- Monitors Client self-administration of medication.
- Serve as first line in any medical emergency andworkswith the clinicalteam inincidences of psychiatric emergencies.
- Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
- Record patient observations and activities in patient records accurately andtimelyin accordance withnursing standards and organizational policy andprocedure.
- Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
- Oversee all aspects of admission/discharge process, including:
- Pre-screenofnew patients forappropriateness foradmission.
- Obtain physical assessment data and health history.
- Inventory and caring for patients’ personal possessions.
- Complete discharge paperwork.
- Provide quality assessments to client’s medication sheets and files todetermineif clients are receivingappropriate medicationin a timely manner, including proper destruction of medication.
- Follow all policies and procedureswith regard topatient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
- Attend training on chemical dependency asrequired.
- Maintains and adheres toestablishedinfection control/employee healthprogram.
- Maintain anddemonstratesa current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
- Maintainappropriate professionalboundaries with current clients, family members,referralssources and vendors.

Education
- High school diplomaor equivalent required.
- Completion ofaccreditedLVN/LPN program,required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’sdegree, preferred.
Certifications
- Current, valid LVN or LPN license.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification program setting isrequired.
