Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse at Citizen Advocates will deliver compassionate, clinically competent care to individuals we support, using the nursing process to collect data, plan, implement and evaluate care. LPNs will interact with clients, families and health team members while upholding professional standards.

Key responsibilities include observing clients’ health status, documenting histories, following physician orders including med administration, and applying unit policies and regulatory

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program and New York State licensure required.
• Continuing professional education required.

Responsibilities

• Observe the client: Collect and document the client’s current health status and medical history.
• Follow orders from doctor, including but not limited to medication and injection administration
• Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for clients according to policy, procedure and division/unit specific competencies.
• Assume accountability and responsibility for the care of the patients within a range of settings according to each patient’s needs
• Comply with specific system/division/unit policy and procedure concerning safety.
• Comply with Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), Office of Persons with Development Disabilities (OPWDD) NewYork State and Federal regulations, laws and ethical guidelines.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
