Job description

The World’s Most Dedicated Never Give Up

Think of what you could achieve if the best possible care was all that mattered. If you had the encouragement and opportunity to truly bond with the patients in your care. And if you could collaborate with the world’s brightest scientists, in a bench-to-bedside environment that put you on the leading edge of clinical breakthroughs for children with cancer, sickle cell, and other life-threatening diseases. It’s possible at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As a clinical professional with us, you’ll be part of a team that gives our all to make a difference in the lives of patients with the rarest of conditions. All while receiving the resources and support you need to advance your career and be the force behind the cures.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, you’ll be joining a collaborative team of RNs and LPNs who work on the frontlines of patient care. Since our Ambulatory Care Units (ACU) serves patients from across all of our units, you’ll have the opportunity to touch the lives of hundreds of patients a week, serving as the first set of medical eyes to welcome, assess and prepare patients for the care they’ll receive.

Here at St. Jude, we believe in building teams that share our passion for delivering the very best in patient care. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, are self-motivated and ambitious, and believe in being an uncompromising champion of consistent, quality work, we’d love to have you apply.

Monday-Thursday 0600-1630. Some weekend and holiday requirement.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Graduate of a school of nursing required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum requirement: 2+ years of nursing experience.
  • Experience in pediatric or oncology nursing preferred (not required).
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to patients from birth to early adulthood depending on duties in the assigned unit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served.
  • Demonstrate ability to assess and interpret age-specific data.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

  • (LC: LPN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing LPN license if primary residence is Tennessee or a non-Nurse Licensure Compact state.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $21.00 - $35.50 per hour for the role of Licensed Practical Nurse.
