Maricopa County’s Correctional Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the jail-based healthcare team. You will administer medications, provide patient care, and participate in planning and evaluating nursing care within the correctional setting.

A special on-the-spot hiring event is planned on Thursday, October 1, 2pm–6pm at 2801 W. Durango Street, Phoenix. Night shift opportunities exist, with a sign-on bonus up to $3,000 and robust benefits for you and your family.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted LPN license issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or a multi-compact license recognized state.

Responsibilities

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

Check out our shift differential pay in addition to our base wage:

• An additional $1.75 per hour for hours worked between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
• An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 11:00pm - 7:00am

About The Position

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be a vital member of Maricopa County's Correctional Health Team and work in partnership with Maricopa County Sheriff's Detention Officers. You will perform specialized nursing functions, including administering medications, therapeutic treatments, providing extensive patient care, and participating in the planning, implementation, and overall nursing care evaluation.

We Require

• Valid, unrestricted license as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state

We Also Value

• Experience as a licensed practical nurse
• Experience in a medical setting, requiring large medication passes.
• Intravenous Infusion Therapy/Venipuncture certification

Job Contributions

• Provide healthcare to patients inside the Maricopa County Jails
• Provide health-related education as appropriate to patient needs
• Administer medication and complete related pharmacological procedures
• Collect data for assessment of care needs, report findings, and deliver appropriate nursing interventions
• Monitor patient's progress and report outcomes
• Participate in orientation and training of new employees, contract staff, students, and others

Working Conditions

• Ability to work inside a jail
• Ability to respond to emergencies
• Ability to get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney that may weigh up to 35 pounds
• Be assigned to various clinical locations in the Phoenix area within a 5-mile radius
