Job summary

Merakey is seeking a compassionate nurse to provide direct care to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities in our Philadelphia, PA program. The RN/LPN will perform assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

The position is PRN with 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM–6:30 PM / 6:30 PM–6:30 AM) and requires at least one weekend shift per month. Competitive hourly pay and robust benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have current LPN license in PA and be eligible to practice.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Nurse to join our team at our program in Philadelphia, PA.

Earn: $35 per hour

Shift: PRN covering 12 hr shifts (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM / 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM) to include a min of 1 weekend shift per month.

As an RN at Merakey, you'll play a vital role in providing direct nursing care to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. Your responsibilities will include clinical assessments, medication administration, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

Essential Job Functions:

• Administer medications and treatments, including tube feedings and tracheostomy care, with precision and compassion.
• Perform nursing assessments on residents as needed to identify and address health issues promptly.
• Collaborate with various healthcare professionals and specialists to coordinate comprehensive care, keeping the nurse manager informed.
• Provide health education to residents and their families, including implementing self-medication programs as directed by the nurse manager.
• Conduct in-service training for staff to ensure compliance with protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of excellence in care delivery.
• Communicate health issues with the interdisciplinary team, actively participating in staff meetings and monthly reviews with the QIDP.
• Complete quarterly assessments in a timely manner, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Fulfill duties as a charge nurse when assigned, carrying an emergency contact telephone, and responding as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of our program.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Current license as an LPN in the Commonwealth of PA.
• Preferably, at least one year of experience as a nurse.
• Genuine interest in working with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
• Possession of a current and valid PA driver's license, along with reliable transportation (may be required).
• Ability to perform professional nursing duties including assessment, treatment, and medication dispensing.
• Physical capability to exert up to 50lbs occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs continuously.
