Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. in Carlisle, PA is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to work in the Cumberland County Prison.

This full-time night shift (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM) offers opportunities to provide comprehensive nursing care and manage EMR duties within a correctional health care setting. Applicants must be PA-licensed LPNs, possess strong communication skills, and be comfortable performing duties under supervision.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and ensure medical information flows to appropriate staff.
• Maintain and secure electronic medical records (EMR).
• Maintain records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in line with laws.
• Conduct sick calls for inmates and provide treatment per protocol.
• Observe, report, and document symptoms and progress; assist in care planning.
• Record and retrieve inmate medical information in EMR systems.
• MAT nurses administer medications and document administration.
• Attend weekly MAT and IDT meetings.

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Cumberland County Prison located in Carlisle, PA.

Schedules available

• Full Time Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)

Job Responsibilities

• The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update, and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conducting sick calls for inmates/patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
• MAT Nurses will be responsible for Medication Administration and documentation.
• MAT Nurses will also be responsible for attending weekly MAT meetings and IDT meetings.
