Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in the Franklin County Jail in Chambersburg, PA. The position offers a Part-Time Evening Shift from 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with every other weekend.

Primary duties include delivering comprehensive nursing care, documenting in electronic medical records, and ensuring secure handling of medications. Responsibilities extend to maintaining accurate records of controlled substances, performing sick calls, and assisting in care

Qualifications

• LPN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to function under supervision.
• Demonstrate clinical competency.
• Experience in correctional health care delivery system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to inmates/patients in the Franklin County Jail.
• Maintain, update, and secure electronic medical records.
• Record and manage controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps per laws.
• Conduct sick calls and provide treatment per protocol.
• Observe, report, and document symptoms and progress; contribute to care plans.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in inmate/patient records.

Job description

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Franklin County Jail located in Chambersburg, PA.

Available Shift:

• Part-Time Evening Shift - 2 pm to 10:30 pm, working every other weekend
  

Job Responsibilities:

• The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update, and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conducting sick calls for inmates/patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
