A leading state agency is seeking a practical nurse to monitor individuals at their assigned worksite. Key responsibilities include detecting changes in patients' health, administering medications via various methods, and maintaining accurate documentation of care given. Candidates must possess valid licensure to practice nursing in New York State, with potential additional credentials required.
Monitor the conditions of individuals in their assigned worksite to detect changes in condition or responses to medication or therapy.
Identify symptoms of illnesses and changes in conditions, and report these to a physician or registered nurse for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Take temperatures, pulse rates, blood pressures, and respiration rates using appropriate medical equipment.
Administer all injectable, J-tube, and G-tube medications to assigned individuals.
Implement and monitor G-tube and J-tube feedings, including changing G-tubes as necessary.
Perform catheterization, trach care, and deep oral and pharyngeal suctioning as ordered.
Assist individuals in collecting urine, stool, and other specimens for analysis.
Maintain charts, records, and treatments administered to document conditions and activities.
Perform inventory of medical supplies and medications to determine needs for reordering.
Perform assigned "Direct Care" duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
Note : If appointed with qualification "B" or "C," you must obtain your license within one year of the limited permit issuance, or you may be removed from the position.
