Job summary

Amedisys is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for full-time daytime visits in New York. You will verify plans with RNs, collaborate with physicians, teach patients and caregivers self-care, and perform routine nursing tasks at patients’ homes.

Requirements include one year of LPN experience, an active LPN license, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Benefits and pay reflect the cost of labor across U.S. markets.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are met; Notify them as soon as possible when patient condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review all medications and perform a medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (i.e. foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using the aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.

• Training Pay: $27.00 - $34.00


• Post Training Rate: $35.00 - $45.00 per visit
