Job summary

togetherwecancareers is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to oversee administration of medications and provide optimal nursing care under the Head/Charge Nurse supervision on the unit.

The role involves evaluating residents, documenting med administration, and coordinating with the Nurse Manager to adjust plans as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduated an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing.
• Experience: <1 year.
• Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse License (LPN).

Responsibilities

• Administers and documents all medications according to established policies and procedures, physician's orders, and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs all treatments according to physician’s specific orders and established policies and procedures.
• Discusses the need to discontinue or change a medication or treatment with the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Orders prescribed medications, notifies pharmacy of discontinued medications, and ensures accuracy of medications and dosages when received from the pharmacy.
• Continuously evaluates behavior, symptoms, reactions and progress of residents and discusses findings with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.

Job description

The LPNis responsible foradministration of all medications and treatments (except those specificallydesignatedfor an RN) during their shift, according to the established medical and nursing care plan.
