Job summary

Rite of Passage is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center medical team in Nashville, TN. You will provide essential health care for youth within the licensed scope and support a safe, therapeutic environment.

The role involves immunizations, health maintenance, and staff training on health topics, with duties including ordering supplies and coordinating care for students aged 12–18.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Licensed Practical Nursing Credential (LPN) in the state of employment.
• At least two years of medical services administration or related experience.
• Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Provide general health care for students within the LPN scope, including immunizations and health maintenance.
• Administer TB screens, flu vaccines, and routine health services.
• Train staff on health care topics such as prevention, CPR, First Aid, and behavioral health basics.
• Assist in ordering supplies, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment for the team.

The Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center is located in Downtown Nashville, right next to the Tennessee Titans stadium, we are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for at-risk youth. As part of our team, you’ll help provide care and supervision for young individuals awaiting trial, offering a mix of education, counseling, medical and recreation services. You’ll monitor activities, document behavior, and assist in various programs to support the growth and development of youth aged 12-18. Pay

$30-$34/hr

What you will do

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a key member of the D.C.J.D.C. medical team, and provides for the general health care of students within the scope of your license. This may include administering immunizations, assisting with TB screen, flu vaccines, and the overall health maintenance of students and staff. As an LPN, you will also assist with training employees regarding relevant health care topics such as prevention of sports injuries, blood borne pathogens, CPR, First Aid, and behavioral disorders. This position assists in ordering supplies, pharmaceuticals, and other medical equipment for the medical team.

To Be Considered You Should

Have a High School diploma or equivalent and possess a current Licensed Practical Nursing Credential from the state in which employed. Have a minimum of two years of previous medical services administration, including demonstrated experience in operating and securing comprehensive health services programs. Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect. Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
