Job summary

Bethany Gardens Skilled Living Center in New York is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our compassionate nursing team. You will provide direct patient care, support safety, privacy, and cleanliness, and assist in maintaining high care standards for our residents.

Applicants must hold a valid NYS LPN license, be available on weekends and holidays, and be able to stand for extended periods. Prior LPN experience and geriatric population familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up a safe environment for patients.
• Administer medications and injections to residents as needed.
• Treat wounds and dressings as needed.
• Provide effective nursing care to patients.
• Supervise and instruct CNAs.
• Assist CNAs in completion of tasks as needed.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Report changes in patient conditions to physicians or RNs.
• Discharge patients and assist in transportation if needed.
• Record observations and vital signs.
• Inform physicians and families of progress and problems.
• Arrange for special services (e.g., meals) as necessary.
• Report off to oncoming nurse.
• Count off with oncoming nurse.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures.
• Any other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Bethany Gardens is actively looking for LPNs to join our nursing team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and support to patients.

The LPN will also assist in maintaining high standards of patient safety, privacy, care and cleanliness. Previous experience in a medical setting and/or as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required for this position.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES (Including but not limited to)

• Set up a safe environment for patients.
• Administering medications and injections to residents as needed
• Treating and dressing wounds and bedsores as needed
• Provide effective nursing care to patients.
• Supervise and instruct unit certified nursing assistants (CNAs)
• Assist and support unit certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in completion of task as needed
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
• Report changes in patient's conditions to physician or registered nurse.
• Discharge patients and assist in transportation if needed.
• Record observations and vital signs.
• Inform physicians and families of a patient’s progress and of any problems that require attention.
• Arrange for special services (i.e. meals) for the patient if necessary.
• Report off to oncoming nurse.
• Count off with oncoming nurse.
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
• Any other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

• LPN experience preferred
• Experience with geriatric population preferred
