Job summary

Northwell Career Site is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients under physician direction. You will administer medications, monitor and document patient status, and perform routine back-office duties, including telephone triage as needed.

The role requires NY state LPN licensure, graduation from an accredited program, and compliance with policies and procedures throughout the patient care journey.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or Nursing Vocational/Technical school.
• Current NY State Practical Nurse license required; additional certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients under physician direction.

• Observe, assess, and document patient medical status throughout treatment.
• Perform back-office duties and rotate as a telephone triage nurse as needed.

Job Responsibility

• Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in support of, and as directed by, the physician.
• Administer medications and document therapeutic effects.
• Observes, conducts, and documents a thorough assessment of patient's medical status during entire course of treatment.
• Responsible for performing assigned back office duties and rotating as a telephone triage nurse in an efficient and professional manner.
• Performs all duties in accordance with Practice policies and procedures.

Job Qualification

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or of a Nursing Vocational or Nursing Technical school required.
• Current License to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
