Icco, Llc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient care under the direction of a Provider. The successful candidate will be energetic, flexible, and passionate about patient care, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic clinical environment.

The role involves preparing patients for exams, recording vitals, assisting with procedures, medication administration, wound care, and documenting procedures in EMR systems. Team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Current LPN license is required.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination, record vitals and history, and provide treatment as applicable.
  • Assist in determining medical problems, initiate intravenous lines, administer fluids and medications as directed by provider orders.
  • Collaborate with providers and other medical staff when examining or treating patients, giving injections, removing sutures, and applying splints and dressings.
  • Authorize medication refills as per provider's direction and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under provider's orders.
  • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens and log results for testing.
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms and sterilize and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
  • Document basic patient care and procedures in electronic medical records.
  • Schedule patients for tests and follow-up appointments.
  • Instruct patients and families regarding treatment and medication instructions.
  • Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions for cross-functional team duties to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing patient care services, determining medical conditions, and preparing patients for examination and treatment under the direction of the Provider. The ideal LPN candidate is energetic, flexible, has a positive attitude and above all else, has a passion for patient care!

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination, records vitals and history, and provides treatment as applicable
  • Assist in determining medical problems, initiates and maintains intravenous lines, administers fluids and medications as directed through provider orders
  • Collaborate with providers and other medical staff when examining or treating patients, giving injections, removing sutures, and applying splints and dressings
  • Authorize medication refills as per providers direction and provide prescription information to pharmacies
  • Prepare and administer injections, change dressings, and facilitate wound management under providers orders
  • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results, and perform lab call-backs
  • Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
  • Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
  • Schedule patients for tests and follow-up appointments
  • Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
  • Collaborate, take direction, and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional team actions to ensure seamless patient care
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Certificate/License: Current LPN license.Current BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one - three years of relevant experience is preferred.
