Job summary

Hale Makua Health Services in Kahului, Maui seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse focused on wound care and resident-centered care. You will provide professional nursing care following established policies and administer medications as directed.

We value collaboration with physicians, therapy teams, and care staff to improve outcomes. Eligible candidates hold an Hawaii LPN license and current TB clearance; First Aid/CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Hawaii LPN license.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• TB clearance (2 steps) current.
• First Aid and CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.

The Position

We're looking for passionate Licensed Practical Nurses to help us with providing professional nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the patient's diagnoses, limitations, expectations, plan of health, and current status.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures.
• Appraises the family, physician and others of changes/incidents.
• Collaborates with physicians, therapy services, consultants and agencies to improve quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a License Practical Nurse in the State of Hawaii.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation.
• Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
• First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
