Job description

• Assist in directing nursing services for the unit/hall in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act and under RN supervision.
• Delegate duties to professional and non-professional nursing staff, monitoring work performance.
• Observe patients for symptoms or reactions, including physical and mental condition changes.
• Assist with notifying physicians of emergencies and patient deaths.
• Implement physician orders and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid license from the Board of Nursing with proof of renewal every other year.
• Willingness to serve as charge nurse and work during emergencies for coverage.
• Ability to deliver quality geriatric nursing care, follow doctor’s orders, and demonstrate a genuine interest in geriatric care.
• CPR certification renewed annually.
• Participation in in-service training and staff meetings.
